Multiple large banks are reporting that they are seeing evidence of a possible breach into the Home Depot’s system, resulting in large batches of stolen credit and debit cards.

A Home Depot spokeperson confirmed that they are seeing some unusual activity, and are currently working with law enformance and the banks to investigate the breach.

According to Krebs, there are apparent connections between the breach at Target and other recent stores, such as UPS– the batches of credit cards were moved onto the black market on the same website used for the previous attacks. Interestingly, the sale of these cards was titled “American Sanctions”, and cards of European banks are being sold under “European Sanctions” – possibly indicating a connection to Russia, considering the recent sanctions placed on the country.

We will be updating this as the story unfolds.
